The Big Draw Art Play CPD day takes place just before the official start of this year’s Big Draw month (October) and is a fantastic way to kick-start the celebrations in your school. We'll be sharing some tried and tested activities that provide playful pathways into art, as well as offering easily adaptable and transferable (and cheap to resource!) methodologies that can be used right across the curriculum!
Who is The Big Draw Art Play CPD for?
Any teaching practitioner seeking inspiration for their own visual arts-based events - or simply looking for some new techniques that bring out the essential playfulness of art! You don’t have to be an art specialist to come - but you’re still welcome if you are! The day promises to be a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and share good practice, rekindle passions and explore potential.
Art Play CPD day will take place in our base at the Baltic Creative Campus, the heart of Liverpool’s creative quarter - and you’ll leave at the end of the day able to share with your pupils a range of exciting and engaging activities that require only limited resources and preparation, along with our Big Draw Toolkit.
- The Eyes Have It: playing with perspective and valuing the view - the importance of looking before you leap!
- The Art of Warming Up: putting even the least confident artists at ease with a range of individual and group warm-up games and activities.
- Crazy Creativity: madcap drawing techniques - using some surprising materials!
- Multi-Media Mark-Making: expanding horizons and broadening the possibilities of “art”
